About Designy Life
Why we are who we are and do what we do.
About the website
This site was launched in the summer of 2015 as a base for creative and curious minds. If you love design, food, or even spiritual things then you will find yourself fitting in. The goal is to inspire you to be a light in this dark world by using your creativity. I’m still learning a lot as I go, so you’ll be traveling with me on my own journey.
Wondering about the name “Designy Life”? I don’t remember when I came up with this, but it certainly struck me as a fun phrase. It also keeps me focused on the fact that everything is designed by someone. Everything—including me and you. God is our Creator, and He gave us the ability to create as well. Because of this, we are living in a designed life, but we also live a designer life. On a not so spiritual note, it also sounds similar to Disney, and if you know me you know I love Disney.
I decided to start this blog as an encouragement to the other Christian designers around me, so that they will keep living the designy life too. But, everyone is a creative person, even if he doesn’t think so. This blog is also for those people, so that they can realize the potential they have in Christ as well.
About the designer
Although originally born in Tennessee, Trinity has grown up in the not-so-sunshiny state of Florida all of her life. Something else that has been with her all of her life is the love of creating. As a child she loved to draw, but her most treasured skill was storytelling and writing. But after a few twists and turns God steered her in the direction of a different artistic field—Graphic Design. After four years of hard work she graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor’s of Visual Arts.
Trinity worked at her church’s print shop throughout college, and was trained on print layout as well as working with pressmen on jobs. Through this opportunity she designed book covers as well as scripture covers to be sent to thousands. Not only has she done print work, but she has built a Wordpress E-commerce website to make revenue to continue sending Bibles around the world.
Through this ministry, Trinity saw the need of churches to reach their communities by church websites. Not only this, but God placed a burden on her heart to design and work with Anti-Trafficking Organizations to rescue souls from the pain of being broken and abused. If one would like to contact Trinity to have her help you with your organization, she may be reached at trinity@designylife.com or find her on social media.
Personal Statement
One of my goals is to have regular, non-artistic people realize that they can do forms of art themselves because that is how God made them. God is the Creator, and He created us to be creators, too, only in a different form than Him since we can’t literally form something out of nothing. Because of this goal, Christ takes on a large role in my work. I as a Christian acknowledge that God created all of us in His image, and we shouldn’t take that for granted. Instead we should be using it to do our best here on Earth for His name’s sake.
My second goal is to bring awareness to things that are normally hidden from society. I am heavily influenced by anti-trafficking movements, a pro-life organization called Human Coalition, and an anti-pornography group called Fight the New Drug. These three topics are being talked about more, but they still are not mentioned enough. Because of this I would love to create work that incorporates a need to end these things and to rescue people from the torments that each situation brings on.
If you would like to see the random things I share on social media, you can follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Or, if you need some work done, you can email me or visit my Upwork profile. Happy designing!
